My top 2 all-inclusive adults-only resorts in Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast
There is something magical about staying in a place that offers both comfort and all the amenities of an all-inclusive resort. Wherever I look, I find myself surrounded by the most stunning scenic views of the Pacific and the lush diversity of Costa Rica’s nature.
We typically drive from San José to Guanacaste, a journey that takes about 5 hours. However, for those preferring a quicker route there is the option to fly to Liberia International Airport by taking a domestic flight from Juan Santamaria International Airport, which takes less than an hour.
Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica – a World of Hyatt Inclusive Collection
What I love the most about this resort is its incredible views of the Gulf of Papagayo. The warm waters year-round offer us a playground for various activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, or simply swimming in the turquoise waters and basking in the sun.
We prefer the rooms overlooking Papagayo Bay, fresh and picturesque! The resort’s concept beautifully blends luxury with tropical charm.
As a sunset enthusiast, I can assure you that this is one of the best places to enjoy breathtaking views. Whether I am on my own or with company, it is the best spot to sit back and unwind.
I must give a big shoutout to the staff here - they are simply exceptional. Their politeness and friendliness truly enhanced our experience.
If you are like me and consider food one of the most crucial aspects of a great stay, you will be in the right place. We found options for everyone, catering to various dietary restrictions and preferences - exactly what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.
Azura Resort
Traveling down the Pacific coastline in Guanacaste, we find the Azura Resort. This hotel beckons me whenever I want to be closer to my favorite beaches on the Pacific side of the country (I will write about these soon - they are too good not to share!). That means, whenever I am in the mood for good surfing waves, especially as a beginner.
I feel this resort embodies more of a “relaxed beach vibe”, which aligns perfectly with the common activities in the area, like surfing. Yet, it still maintains the expected high level of service.
I recommend checking out their private tours. My favorite one is the sea life adventure tour, where we were lucky enough to spot dolphins and other beautiful marine life.
My suggestion is to visit Costa Rica’s Pacific coast during the dry season, from December to April. You will enjoy calm waters, near-to-perfect surfing conditions and sunny days. Keep in mind, though, that this is also peak tourist season.
Now, we also like a lot of Costa Rica’s lush rainforest. Whenever we want to do different activities such as trekking and wildlife spotting, then the rainy season that extends from May to October is a good season. I would say as May and December are the transition months, it might offer the best of both worlds.
When I have the chance to stay longer in Guanacaste, I love dedicating time to visit its National Parks. Some of my favorites include Rincón de la Vieja National Park, Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve, and Marino Las Baulas National Park.In this last one, the turtle nesting season is from October to February. However, the best months to see them are December and January.
Welcome to our Pura Vida country!
